Apple released on February 16^th the new OS X 10.8 developer preview which will be available on the market somewhere in the "late summer" as the officials predict.

  The improvements on the new Mountain Lion include features such as: ICloud, Messages, Notes, Notification Center, Game Center, Gatekeeper, AirPlay Mirroring, Reminders, Share Sheets and Twitter. Most of those features will have the capabilities of iOS 5 on IPad. The Mountain Lion will also extend Sync as one of the most important capabilities and one that is highly welcomed by the Apple users.

  Although the company hasn't announced a price for this new and unexpected software release, we can mention that the previous Lion was put on the market for 29.99$ and this would probably be a reasonable price for the Apple novelty.

  One very interesting fact about the Apple products and software releases is the nomenclature used for most of them. Many people wonder why Apple staff chose these names for their features.

  For example Gatekeeper is believed to be inspired by the movie The Net, released in 1995, which was a revelation in matter of technology for that time. The movie is all about computer espionage, cyberspace and software engineering and the starring role belongs to a program called Gatekeeper.

  Even though the Mountain Lion could be considered a response for the sudden release of Microsoft's Windows 8, the multitude of useful functions and applications will most probably increase the number of people who use portable Mac systems as well as the desktop ones.
